In the article, Your Phone Could Ruin Your Life, by Kristen Lewis it says, “digital distraction can be harmful, both mentally and physically”(Lewis 9). I think this means that young people are spending too much time on electronics both day and night. I can support this because it says that “80% of teenagers sleep with their phones nearby”(Lewis 7),and also, “your phone screen gives off a kind of light that tells your brain to stay awake”(Lewis 9). Another thing that supports this is that when you sleep with your phone under your pillow the radiation can cause cancer.…

In by Ray Bradbury, the dystopian future predicts that we become an uneducated, vacuous race consumed in technology, books are slowly losing their value over time. As society began to move at a faster pace, quite literally — cars travel so fast that billboards must stretch 200 feet long to be readable, the written word started to seem too slow and boring, especially in comparison to the new forms of media that became available. People preferred to stay home and watch the “parlor walls” — giant television screens — or go see a sporting event instead of reading. Also like in the world of Fahrenheit 451, our addiction to technology has gone way overboard, with everyone stuck in their technological world instead of interacting with others One…

The 24-hour social media challenge actually made me grow as a person. The 24-hour challenge opened my eyes to many things like there is more than life than your phone and that when you are using your phone you don’t socialize. So while I was doing the 24 challenge I kept myself busy so I wouldn’t have to use my phone. I even went to the gym with my mom and sister to keep myself distracted which that was a good two-hour workout. As a person that just uses your phone 24/7, you don’t realize what is around you.…

Even though I hadn’t really formulated a plan for this, I was surprised when Thanksgiving break presented itself with many opportunities to remove myself from my phone.…
