Should pets be cloned?

Some people think that they should make tons of more pets just for them to have their

pet that died back. Well, here are some reasons why people should think that pets shouldn’t be

cloned.

First off its really expensive to clone pets. Kristen Lewis clearly states that

“instead of forking over tens of thousands of dollars to clone one pet,” TENS OF THOUSANDS

OF DOLLARS!!! Do you know what you could buy with that much money?

Secondly, there are already lots of pets in animal shelters. According to Kristin

Lewis she states that” Animal rights groups points to the thousands of shelters overflowing with

dogs and cats in need of homes.” What that is trying to say is that why not save money and go

get an animal

“I have no objection to cloning as such as a technological instrument for medical and therapeutic purposes. As in all these cases, what must govern one 's decisions is the question of compassionate motivation. However, regarding the idea of deliberately breeding semi-human beings for spare parts, I feel an immediate, instinctive revulsion,” -Dalai Lama. The overpopulation of the dog supply is even negatively affecting the dogs themselves. A novelist named Douglas Anthony Cooper predicts that “next year, 4 million dogs and cats will be killed in shelters” (Cooper). Sometimes there are even cats at puppy mills as part of the business, however the focus is still on the dogs and unfortunately the shelters have to put the dogs down when there is no room for them because of the overpopulating supply. Robyn F. Katz emphasizes “at that time, the dogs are either sold to other breeders, left on the side of the road, neglected, or even killed” (Katz). Dogs are affected when the puppy mills go out of business because they are already severely damaged from living in the puppy mills for a long time and a lot of them would not have anywhere to go because there are so many of them.…
