Should Canada Have A Mixed Economy Essay

“Should Canada and the United States have a common economic system with little government” is a question asked by many canadians and americans around the world. I am here to answer that question. This is not just a tiny question this is what will determine the future of Canadians. The United States of America is proposing that we switch to their style of economy so that it will meet our citizen’s needs. The economy that the United States wants Canada to convert to is called a market economy. A market economy is a style of economy in which economic decisions are mainly based on the aggregate interactions of the countries, citizens, and businesses. There is a lot of government involved. My position on this topic is that we should stay as a mixed economy.

The reason why I believe we should stay as a mixed economy is because there are so many advantages. One of the advantages of staying in a mixed economy is that individuals can make tons of money but the economy is still fair for most people throughout the country this helps us create more of a middle class. Another advantage is that the government pays for many of our social service programs for example Canada offers free healthcare to its citizens. The last advantage I am going to state is that there is still a motivation for workers to work hard. This allows citizens to have a tremendous balance between their personal lives and work. Now don’t mistake my words there are some disadvantages to a mixed economy too but
