The major conflict or problem in this story has to be that Mariam is left behind in Afghanistan and the family has to overcome obstacles while trying to find her. They have many challenges while in America such as money and family. The story starts off in afghanistan when the family is trying to escape, but with all the commotion Mariam gets left behind. For example the characters go through so much trouble in this book to find Mariam. The book was not predictable because the ending was very surprising along with a few other parts. The ending of the book had a happy ending. But was definitely surprising. My favorite part was definitely all the suspense in it. A connection I made with the book is how close their family was. I would recommend this book to other students because it teaches a good lesson and is very interesting. If I were to rate this book I would give it 5/5 because it is very well written. For example I could not find any part I didn’t understand. Shooting Kabul is definitely one of my favorite books and I am very glad I read
