For some people, manipulating photos to where they switch the contrast of the color of a feature is not a massive issue but when the entire photo changes completely too where the photo is unrecognizable it’s not acceptable. For example if the journalist or the editor adds a giant moon on the background to a picture that shows the city during the night. This changes the picture from a documentary scene to a fictional scene which as a result makes it less meaningful. The journalists and editors fall at risk of losing their reputation that they built over time like both articles mention. The tone of Ricchiardi’s article is against the manipulation of photos whereas, the article by the New York Times is in neither favor or against of manipulation of photos. Both articles provide examples of people who have manipulated photos that work for well recognized press companies which give people the opportunity to think about what journalists and editors are doing today with the photos that are being
