Sherlock in Real Life
While the Sherlock Holmes stories are made up in Conan Doyle’s head, there are many facts of reality in these stories. The inspirations of his characters were people in his actual life. The outfits that his characters wore were consistent with what was actually being worn in that time period and the people involved in crime solving in his stories were also involved in reality. The scenery and vehicles were also very similar.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was born May 22, 1859 in Edinburg, Scotland. He was married twice. His first wife was Louisa Hawkins who died in 1906. A year after Louisa’s death he married his second wife Jean Leckie. Between his two wives he had five children, Mary Louise, Arthur Alleyne, Denis Percy Stewart,
