One difference between our world and Shakespeare's world was the rights of women. In Shakespeare's time, women weren't even allowed to act in plays. In our world, violence is constantly addressed in movies, books, video games, or other media. In Shakespeare's world, they also used violence for entertainment. However, they did go a little far in their entertainment. Some of it could include a beheading... that they would watch for fun. In the article, "Shakespearean Snapshots," on the website www.bard.org, it explains this point. "Severed heads decayed on city walls." It was definitely not an extremely fun place to be.
Another similarity would be music. Music is a very important part of our day, as it was in Shakespeare's. In the article "A Nest of Singing Birds," on the website www.bard.org, it states, "Musical development was part of the intellectual and social movement that influenced all England during the Tudor Age." Musicals were very big back then, just as they are today. Singing was found in almost every play, just the same as the plays today. Instruments were played in great variety. Music was extremely important socially for Shakespeare's people. It is no different than music
