Lily is currently recovering from a total left hip replacement (Decemember,2017). The nursing staff needs to keep an eye on the incision site and the tissue that surrounds it. Monitoring the incision site allows the nurses to keep track of recovery, and watch changing in the wound. Each day incision sites and other areas must also be dressed. Dressing Lily daily helps prevent infection, and potential complications with incision sites. Another thing to keep track for since the operation Lily has been experiencing limited mobility, and weight bearing ability. Lily’s diet needs to be monitored as well. We would suggest that a meal plan should be made with Lily. With Lily involved you will successfully build a proper diet, that she enjoys. This diet will not only effect Lily’s nutrition. But with her helping build the diet she will enjoy her meals, which can increase mood. Another thing to monitor with type two diabetes is weight and exercise. Lily needs to maintain a healthy weight, which can be done by both diet and exercise.
