Set Induction Essay

Setting induction and closure is very important and necessary in lessons at all grade levels from pre-k to 12th grade. Generally, set induction is prepared, for a formal lesson. When the students are set, they are prepared to learn. In my opinion, set induction requires a preparation ahead of time. The teacher needs to make sure that their examples and act are related to the topic taught. Usually, the method is used before any new activity, from the introduction of a new concept to giving homework. The technique helps to motivate to students being fully ready to learn. Questions, hand zone activities, videos, pictures, cartoons, stories, might be a good begin to get any grade level students’ pay attention. If the teacher starts with cell definition and organelles this will not be an interesting start for the class especially low grade such as 6 grades. On the other hand, if I start to ask an interesting question about the topic of my 6th-grade students, they will begin to pay attention more. Middle school students are teenagers and there are a lot of things which can distract them easily, it looks essential to use set induction before we start lecturing in classes. In the second approach of mine, they will wonder what will come next and it will keep them awake. I will bring examples about real life, for example, vacuole: Storage food, water refrigerator; Mitochondria: Battery; Endoplasmic Reticulum transport system within cell Truck transport people, Lysosomes, stomach etc. I request similar examples for the students'. This technique helps to students clarify organelles functions and compare of the real life.
