When students first go school they stand up raise their hands, place it on their hearts and say the pledge of allegiance. One nation under god, sounds familiar. Let’s dig into what that line is really saying. One nation under god. God is being used as a whole in this context. When someone says god, people from their respected faith automatically think of their deity such as God, Allah and Buddha. Not once does the pledge or this nation share any ideal for just one religion but multiple, because the pledge speaks of god, god in all forms and respected religions. To keep kids from arguing and blistering others based on their religion the pledge should not say “under god.” The nation was not founded under god but founded on the principle that all men are created freely and equal and not based on religious right. Having religious difference can factor in on bullying and labeling. Religious conflicts will cause turmoil in the school system causing controversy with parents, students, and the education system itself. However, religion in school should be removed. School is a place for healthy learning and safety for the young minds of this nation. A study was constructed in England where 800 children claimed of religious bullying. This study shows that bullying through religion is another practice in reclaiming non-minority status.
