Columbus seniors can look forward to a fun summer of attending the very best local events where they will be able to engage with their community and be thoroughly entertained. Getting out of the house to do an exciting activity will also help improve a senior's outlook on life. Seniors, here are must-attend local happenings you'll want to mark on your calendar:

Peddler's Picnic

This outdoor market will be held at the North Market at 59 Spruce Street every Sunday from June 4 to October 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Seniors will get some exercise while walking from booth to booth in the fresh air engaging with the over 45 vendors and checking out what they're selling. Every Saturday through August 19 a different movie will be playing from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Seniors will have a truly unique summer experience watching their favorite movie while enjoying free popcorn on a warm night with friends or a caregiver. They can bring a low-back chair or spread a blanket on the grass for comfortable seating during the movie. There will also be food trucks available on-site offering a variety of treats.

Sounds of the Town

The Easton Town Center in Columbus is home to an outdoor summer concert series that will take place on Wednesdays through the summer until August 30 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Concerts will showcase a variety of music from country to jazz each week. Seniors will have the pleasure of getting some energy-boosting fresh air while listening to an uplifting live musical performance that will enhance their mental well-being. Admission is free.

Jazz and Rib Festival

This highly anticipated summer festival will take place in downtown Columbus and run from July 21 to 23 from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. At this fair, seniors will be able to celebrate summer with their community and enjoy days of ongoing jazz while eating some of the best barbecue ribs and chicken around.
