Self Reflection Essay: My Journey Of Self-Development

Have you ever pondered the idea of existing solely for yourself? We exist in life individually, but when we share our stories with others we create the possibility of someone else being able to relate. In a way, sharing my personal journey statement can bring me together with others who see the same vision as myself. I know this isn’t the kind of story you’d expect to hear, but I can guarantee you this is a story that needs to be heard. My journey of self-development has taken scale on a variety of experiences. As a child, I was always withdrawn, almost as if I was in my own world entirely. I tried my hardest to become extroverted, but overtime problems arose with my speech and social anxiety. No one knew at the time, but this part of my personality impacted me a lot as I grew older. I developed a low self-esteem and became very self-conscious of myself. …show more content…
I developed an awareness and curiosity for what comes next in life. Somewhere along the way, I became lost in the idea that I could accomplish anything when fully giving myself, but what did I want to fully give myself to? It took some tough hardships and experiences for me to finally "find" myself. Realizing my potential led up to acknowledging the dream I had in my heart all along. And once I had found that for myself, I knew nothing was going to hold me back. I began high school in a naïve state of mind, unaware of what to expect. The majority of my hardships occurred during my high school experience. First being my parents’ finalization in the divorce. Due to previous events, I was left alone to endure the burden of losing something precious to me. I wanted to seek for an outlet to express my instability, but when I tried to express what I felt it was taken as me becoming a stereotypical
