Self driving cars will most likely have an adverse effect on automobile businesses in densely populated cities. Many places rely heavily on driving jobs such as taxis, uber, lyft, and other transportations. If self driving cars were to be implemented people would not need to pay for taxis, they will have their car drop them off then send it back home. Car transportation jobs would be useless. My dad’s friend was a truck driver and it was one of the few jobs that he was capable of doing since his english speaking skills were very poor and he only had a high school diploma. He once stated that he had an opportunity to get a higher education but he did not want to be in debt. A car crash has a long term effect on the survivor and their family. According to The World Bank, the financial effects that occur after a car crush can be detrimental for families. It is likely for a survivor, of a car crash, to lose their job. In fact, 70% of the disabled and 27.6% of the non-disabled experience job losses after the incident (Sung). Unemployment results in less spending, which can hinder the economy. Also there is a huge income gaps between victims of traffic crashes and non-victims because it is hard for victims of road-crashes to get well- paying jobs. The monthly average income of the disabled in their 50s is $820, while the non-victims average income is $4,090.This means that economic losses tend to have a lasting impact for survivors of road
