There are only a limited number of ways to terminate alimony or spousal support. Section 20-109(A) of the Virginia Code states that one of those ways is to show that, based upon clear and convincing evidence, the spouse receiving support has been habitually cohabiting with another person in a relationship analogous to a marriage for one year or more. Given that gay marriage is now legal in Virginia, you might think that “cohabitating with another person in a relationship analogous to a marriage” applies to opposite-sex and same-sex couples alike. This legislation addressing house bill 186 is of predominant interest to me because I am a student at the University of West Georgia and I believe that every student should feel secure while within his or her institution. This issue also directly impacts my fellow peers and professors as well as my mother, a grade school educator, and her students. From personal experience I have noticed the change in school systems where the building’s security has become more like a prison and less like an inviting community to learn because of the growth in school violence. House bill 186 clarifies the law regarding weapons in school safety zones consisting of any real property owned or leased by a school or postsecondary institution. This bill will amend provisions relating to carrying weapons within certain school safety zones and at school functions.…

“A key objective of Bill C-36 is to ‘end demand’ for sexual services — a factor which was accepted as the primary cause of the existence of the sex industry. As such, the Preamble to Bill C-36 recognizes the importance of denouncing and prohibiting the ‘purchase of sexual services because it creates a demand for prostitution’.” (Galbally, 2016). In addition to this statement is that being a prostitute is legal but most of the activities surrounding the offerings of sexual service(s) is illegal. In contrast, the proposed laws came into conflict with other rights.…

In this Scenario it talks about the effects that the Healthcare Reform Bill of 2010 has had on the American economy. Yes, there has been a tremendous amount of individuals who still lack the opportunity to be insured due to living below the poverty level or the lack of having the means, because even though it is offered from their employees the rates are still too expensive for them to be able to afford it for their entire household. Also, there is a stipulation clause that is set in place that puts an emphasis on whether or not one even is eligible for this new found insurance and if one does not meet that quota they are not eligible to even receive the new health insurance. In the case of the District Six Removals, the marginalization of non-whites caused cultural activism among them. An example of marginalization includes a quote which states, “In 1966, South Africa’s apartheid regime declared District Six a ‘whites only’ area under the notorious Group Areas Act,” (Cape Town’s District Six). Here, non-white africans were forced out of their homes because of their race. This is discrimination, a form of marginalization. An example of cultural activism includes a quote which states, “It is also committed to the reconstruction of the community by advancing a culture of multi-culturalism, non-racialism, and open debate,” (District Six Removal).…
