Referencing from the course material, Living with the Earth, as for food security worldwide, more people are unable to afford food, conditions in agriculture become more unfavorable, and governments have been unable to provide the infrastructure or policies needed to promote domestic production. Not to mention that the poorest in society will have less access to health and education and it is estimated that 8 million of people die every year. In like manner, it is assessed that 10 preschool children continue to die every 60 seconds from malnutrition, an accumulation of 30, 000 children deaths per day, this number has not changed since 1980 (Lichtarowicz, 2006). In comparison to America, poverty and hunger is a threat that millions of Americans face. A nationwide network of food banks known as Second Harvest, released a study in 2006 that revealed more than 27 million Americans take advantage of these programs like soup kitchens and food pantries (Moore, 2007). It begins to go from country to country, we need to help one in order to continue with the other. We need education to provide children with knowledge and life skills and create a change in their lives. There are organizations out there such as Plan International who’s main objective is to train teachers and build new schools so that students can earn an education. Another factor is having access to health care and clean water. Most importantly to have economic security and support families. We need to improve the pay than just keeping it at $1.90, by having better wages and salaries, these people will be able to purchase more goods and services and help enhance the economy. By having a positive economic growth, it will develop more jobs for those to sustain for their families and it will reduce
