In the early part of the film, Will start to have a therapy session with Sean, he was quite resistant to reveal himself and share his past stories at the beginning of the session, which is understandable considering his traumatised childhood and socio-economical status. With the high level of cultural intelligence and cultural capabilities of Sean, Will starts to feel secure and safe with Sean’s presence, which guards down his defending mechanism and express his emotions and feelings. By establishing mutual understanding and rapport with Will, Sean brings out positive effects on obtaining Will’s trust and redirects Will’s approaches to life.
