My mission in life is to utilize the knowledge granted to me to ameliorate the world around me. Santa Clara University’s vision for a better world through humane and sustainable means is very appealing to me in many aspects. Parallel to SCU, I would like to use my knowledge as a mechanical engineer to help others that do not have the benefit of my education, or simply the resources to strengthen their situation. I realized that this was a desire of mine on my first mission trip to Haiti. I observed a lack of technology that prohibited the advancement of a society, and was inspired to help. It was on this trip that I realized that my destiny was to help these people. Therefore, I believe that SCU and I share a common desire to utilize our knowledge
