INTRODUCTION
Nursing is a highly skilled health care profession which combines the art of caring with the scientific knowledge and skills developed through education. Nursing practice is controlled by the Nursing Act 50 of 1678 as amended by the Nursing Act 33 of 2005 such as regulation R2598 which is a scope of practice for all nursing practitioners (enrolled or registered). Nursing practitioners wore a certain attire to look uniform and easily identified from other healthcare team members and uniform (attire) is regulated by R1201 of 1 July 1970. This Acts regulate the nursing profession by laying R2598, Scope of Practice of persons who are registered or enrolled. This regulation authorises the nurse (registered or enrolled) or midwife to define the Scope of Practice and understand the condition under which may practice. This regulation is most important regulation that governs the practice of every nursing practitioner in the country. The Scopes of Practice of enrolled categories are similar to those of registered practitioners in that their activities are all directed at meeting the needs of their patients. While, the difference lies in the fact that the enrolled categories practice under direct or indirect supervision of registered nurses, and in case of nursing auxiliaries, their actions must be planned and prescribed by the registered nurse (Mogotlane S., van Niekerk C.F., Young A. 2004:59).R387 as amended by R767, the rules setting out the acts or omissions in respect of which council (South African Nursing Council) may take disciplinary actions to all nurses that malpractice. Council may reprimand or even deregister the person that is found guilty of practising against the laws of SANC. Regulations regulates training of nursing students differ as per programme such as the R2175, regulates the training of nursing students who enrolled for the programme
