The purpose of this science fair project is to explain and demonstrate the phenomena of a solar eclipse. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun. This movement covers the Earth's view of the Sun either partially or completely. A solar eclipse is a very rare event and can be seen from specific locations on earth. Solar eclipses occur during the New Moon phase. The New Moon phase is when the Sun and Moon are in conjunction. In this science fair project you will construct a model that demonstrates how an eclipse appears. Additional exploration will include investigating sun spots and observing changes of the position of the earth with respect to the sun. Hypothesis: A solar eclipse can be created by understanding the movements the sun and moon make with respect to the earth. Variables: Position of the sun (ceiling bulb) …show more content…
Use the razor blade and be careful. Use the red crayon to color the edge of this hole. The red crayon represents the corona. The corona is the extended outer atmosphere of the Sun. Use the knitting needle to poke several holes lengthwise across the center of the second piece of cardboard. Setup Step #2: Glue one wood support in the middle of the wood piece so that it separates the wood piece widthwise. Glue another wood support at one edge of the wood piece. Glue the third wood support piece one-fourth of the distance between the middle support and the free edge of the wood piece. Setup Step #3: Lay the wood piece on a flat surface. Glue one piece of cardboard along the shorter edge of the wood piece that has one support on it. Glue the second cardboard piece to the wood support that is one-fourth of the distance from the middle support and the free

The topic I chose for my science fair project is: Which Saxophone Reeds are the Loudest? I chose this project because my cousin did this project a couple years ago and it inspired me to try for myself. I did not ever hear his final result about which reeds ended up being the loudest. I did hear some of the different materials and strengths of the reeds that he used and I chose more strengths of reeds than he did. There are three important facts about reeds.…

However, there were a few steps that had to be taken before connecting all of the materials together. The pens had to be stripped to be made hollow. We pulled the front and back out of the pen to get a hollow cylinder. Then, we cut the balloons in order to apply them to the wheels. We cut the top and bottom of the balloons to stretch them over the two…

Plants photosynthesize in order to produce sugar and oxygen, which, in turn, gives the plant energy. Photosynthesis usually tends to occurs more when more chlorophyll are present in the leaves. When the leaves are exposed to light, the process of photosynthesis begins. The more light the plant is exposed to, the quicker the rate of photosynthesis will occur. Altering the amount of carbon dioxide given to the plant can also alter the rate at which photosynthesis occurs.…

Since the distance from the Sun to Enceladus is more than 10 times the distance from the Sun to the Earth, we are not sure if the solar powered missions would still be feasible at such long distance journey. So we will measure how much solar power hits there from the Sun by sending a detector to its surface. Not only this method will help us to know the amount of solar energy there is, it also provide information that is essential to our…

The Egyptian Eclipse Damyris Williams The Solar Eclipse is when the moon revolves around the Earth, but is so far from Earth that size and distance no longer matter. Earth appears to be only slightly smaller than the sun during the solar eclipse, which is not the case any other time, the Moon almost blocks our view of the sun, but a small amount of concentrated sun light, creeps through the small gaps. Looking at the solar eclipse without protective eyewear will result in damage to your eyes and possible blindness, it would be like letting someone put a magnifying glass above your eye while the sun is at its hottest which would be idiotic. But the question is, why does this happen?…
