The word lunch is an abbreviation of the more formal word “lunchentach,” which was from the 1580’s. Over 100,000 schools and institutions serve school lunches to 30.4 million students each day. Many students bring their own lunches because of the long waiting lines for school lunches and also to save money. Not to mention that a home lunch is healthier and more nutritional than an average school lunch. Though there are disadvantages of packing a home lunch, like packing it every day or if the school doesn’t have a microwave to heat items, the pros outweigh the cons though. Home lunches are extremely customizable in all aspects. Knowing how to pack a home lunch effectively is a very important skill that helps for many years. Lunchbox’s come …show more content…
Fruits contain many nutrients, not found in other lunch items, which help you throughout the day. Not to mention that there are a plethora of fruits available to put in a lunchbox. The next item that also has a variety of flavors to choose from is a drink! Without a drink, a lunch would feel dry and not as enjoyable. Drinks like Gatorade help replace electrolytes used throughout the day. Going with water can be just as enjoyable. Different drinks also complement an item. For example, coconut juice would not go well with chili, but Coca-Cola would complement …show more content…
Peanuts, cashews, and bars have fiber and protein to keep anyone from going hungry. These snacks are small, so bringing them out in class sneakily is safe. Also a great desert for a home lunch is a cookie! Without desert any lunch is incomplete and feels unsatisfying. Not to mention that eating a cookie in classes can satisfy hunger. When placing food in any lunchbox, placing hard foods at the bottom and soft foods on the top is fundamental. Sandwiches can get squished and ripped apart if packed improperly, like under a heavy Gatorade
