Some may argue that students-athletes are trying their best to bring their grades up, but the students might have issues at home or issues with the teacher. In “With New Roles, School Counselors Are More Indispensable Than Ever,” Jonathan Durr, a counselor at Paducah Tilghman High School, stated, “We work with teachers, administrators and parents or guardians to help students in the areas of academic and career achievement, personal and social development, and more.” (2).
