Scholarly Formatting Style Analysis

There are numerous types of scholarly formatting styles used by universities. Bethel chose to use the APA standards as their formatting style for the Success program. APA sets standards and guidelines for scholarly writing. There is a learning curve with APA, but I feel the time it takes to learn the format and utilize all the tools will prepare me for college level papers. APA is more than a copyright protection; it has a set formula for the essay layout. It sets parameters for grammar, punctuation, design, and protection. Understanding in-text citations and how to list the references is a crucial piece of college writing. Plagiarism is taken very seriously; the APA format will help me learn how to avoid the dangers associated with plagiarism.
