Sandwich Island Research Paper

When I look around, all I see is the endless blue sea. Sorry, I couldn’t write a letter to you faster, but I could not write on the boat. On the boat, everyday it was the same thing all over and over. The blue sea stretched for over 100 billion miles in every direction, that was the only thing we saw and nothing else. The blatant smell of saltwater is all we could smell, together with the acrid taste of moldy bread is the only thing we tasted. We sailed for 30 days, hoping to see a glimpse of a whale, but my body was worn out. My hair and beard are very long since I didn’t cut it for several weeks, and all my clothing is very wet and smells like deceased fish. Now I am on the Sandwich Islands enjoying myself when I can. The rest here at the Sandwich Island has been exceptional, but the boat ride here was the worst experience of my life. I miss my sweet home back in England, …show more content…
We did not harm or kill anyone, but there is just less people on the islands. One of our crewmates had a disease, but our captain did not care and we just went on the island. After, our captain got arrested for “knowingly spreading diseases”. One of our crewmates did have a disease but we didn’t “knowingly spreading diseases”. Also now I see a lot more foreign people staying in Hawaii. I think they are attracted to the natural beauty of Hawaii. I might also consider doing that. Hawaii makes me feel very relaxed and I want to stay here for the rest of my life, but to live I will need to continue my career as being a whaler.
I kind of feel frustrated from the events that happened over the past few years. We cannot recruit any more Hawaiians as our crew, whales are more scarce, and our captain got arrested for “knowingly spreading diseases”. I hope that things go better than it is now and I want to either stay at Hawaii or go back to my city, England. I hope I can see you
