Two notable professors that have greatly inspired me are Shamila Lekka and Mark Starrett. These two academic professors taught amazing courses, were enthusiastic about the subject matter, incorporated updated and exciting new research within the field, and were consistently available to me. Shayam sparked my interest and fondness of the attachment theory and taught unbelievably well. Mark introduced me to therapeutic horticulture which has evolved into a great passion of mine. I would love to stay at UVM to have Shyam and Mark close by as I know I could always go to them for advice, whether it be career advice or just a friendly chat.
I know how wonderful UVM is for undergrad, so when I did research regarding grad school I was thrilled to see the counseling program. I absolutely love the dual enrollment option and am willing to put in the extra work. When I looked over and compared the curriculum to other graduate programs, I thought UVM’s was ideal. I strongly believe I will be provided with the skills and knowledge needed in a professional setting along with the tools and drive toward achieving my personal
