Salmonella is very common, more than 1,000,000 people are infected annually(CNN). Salmonella is most common in South America due to a lot of meat and poultry consumed there. The salmonella bacteria affects the Digestive System, it also affects the vitals if it reaches the bloodstream. The digestive System is in charge of breaking down the food that is consumed, and if the Salmonella bacteria is in it it won’t be able to do its job. The Blood stream carries blood around the body, if salmonella enters it will reach the vitals. All of the organelles that are in the salmonella bacteria have a very important role. Salmonella can cause other illnesses that can be fatal.(MAYOCLINIC)
Salmonella targets the digestive system, this system includes the intestines, liver, stomach, appendix, pancreas, gall bladder, rectum, and esophagus. The bacteria mainly targets the intestines, the small and large one. The small intestines role is to produce bile, bile is the substance that breaks up food. The role of the large intestine is the break down the fat. The large and small intestine are the largest vitals in the human body, the large intestine can reach up to 1.5 meters long, while the small one can get up to 6 meters long.(ScienceExplorer)
