I define leadership as the ability to provide strength and coverage to support a Sailor, regardless of rank. The ability to instill Core Values, provide training and the tools a Sailor needs to excel in both their professional and personal life. A true leader will support a Sailor, any Sailor, during the high times of a career, but to be a solid force if there are any lows.

I will continue to earn your respect and will not rest on my laurels. What I ask from you, it to ensure that you reciprocate and treat others as you want to be treated. That you shall provide an environment of respect and solidarity for your fellow Sailors. Anything else is not indicative of our Core Values.
Loyalty
Loyalty to your Country, the Naval Service and your Chain of Command is paramount as a warfighting and seafaring Sailors. We are entrusted stewards of the Naval Service. You will always be supported by your leadership and afforded the resources to you and ensure that you. Always remember this will not and does not mean blind loyalty, as there is a difference between the two. I will have the fortitude to address misconduct and misuse of resources regardless of rank or position.
Honesty
I will be truthful in all my dealings with every Sailor, up and down the Chain of Command. We have been granted the privilege to serve this Nation and our Naval Service. I will find new ways to apply the different tools learned at the Senior Enlisted Leadership Course to attempt to resolve our conflicts rather than to avoid them. I owe that to my peers and to myself.
Learning to be empathetic to the evolving needs of our civilian employees is something that I can also continue to improve upon. I must move past the desire to avoid engaging with them all together due to past encounters, as that will prove to be counterproductive to my personal development and the mission of the command. I cannot be discouraged when addressing those challenges head on and not getting any recourse. I will need to continue asking for assistance in this area and apply the conflict resolutions skills I have
