The acronym of S.M.A.R.T has various meanings but to me, it specifically focuses precisely on knowing what you desire to achieve. As I measure my progress I begin to notice that as I achieve my goals doors will begin to open up on my way to success. When looking to attain a goal make sure it has a reasonable timeframe relevant enough to want to carry out in a timely matter. Smart goals can be anything from a desirable want to a less desirable need be as long as they are achievable. My S.M.A.R.T goal that pushed me to continue my education is called attain because anything is attainable as long as you put your mind to it.
Looking at my future without a college education doesn’t look promising, If I learn enough, I will earn enough those words have gotten me motivated enough to continue my education. You will struggle along the way but, no one is declaring it will be easy work, dedication and time will be needed extensively to ace them goals. As cited “A goal should be grounded within a time frame, with no time frame tied to it there’s no sense of urgency”. (Donohue, 1998) A realistic goal can be relevant if you make it achievable enough to conquer in a timely matter.
To conclusion we must open our minds, develop our skills, and use our abilities to attain these goals. Know what you want to accomplish and give a reasonable timeline to get it done. The objective of goals is to set the bar high enough to ensure progress is sustainable. Without a higher education I really do not know what my life holds, what I do know is I will achieve and prosper as long as I remain focused.
