Rotating Tires

Improved Essays
Rotating tires and wheels on vehicles is a common thing. Rotating the tires can sav wear and tear as well as make them last longer. Some people rotate just the four tires used, while other people rotate all four and the spare. If only two tires are wearing, just the two can be rotated. Some people rotate their tires every time so many miles are put on their vehicle. Such as every 3,000 or 5,000 miles. The most basic tools you will need for this are jacks, support jacks, and a lug wrench. In some circumstances you will need a crowbar. On larger vehicles such as trucks or semis, you will probably want an impact (a sort of lug wrench that uses air and can tighten nuts or bolts more than regular human strength). Not many materials are needed as this is a simple job. Paper towels or rags can be used as well as bolts are often greasy and oily. …show more content…
Place the jack under this beam and then pump up and down on the jack handle. Once the tire is 2 to 3 inches off the ground, place a support jack under the beam. On a support jack, pull up on the black support till it come to the height of the car. To release it, pull up on the little lever to the side. Once the car is sitting safely and securely on this support (make sure that the jack, spread part on top holds the beam, and does not go with the beam), you can turn or spin the handle of the jack to the left and it will come down. Now, you can bring up the other side of the vehicle, or take the wheel on this side
