There was one aspect of the war that you have never thought about and that is women. What did women do during the second world war? How did they affect the United states role in the War? Beyond the invention of the atomic bomb, the Holocaust and the rebuilding of Europe, World War II changed the world forever and women were a great part of it. Women played many key roles during the war, and they were persuaded and encouraged by the government and the different jobs that they did helped this country during the war times, even when they had to fight for equality while they were working.

These were made to persuade or pick out white middle class women who were not already in the work force. One of the most seen poster was known as the “ Rosie the Riveter” (History.com) During the World War 2 the American government was striving for more enlistment of of women in the work force. As a patriotic symbol, the poster known as the “ Rosie the Riveter” was there to symbolize all of the women in the work force and not just one. In my opinion in our times this poster may symbolize the female empowerment. It says that the song “ Rosie the Riveter”was first released in public in the year 1943 by a James Kern “Kay” Kaiser. A man by the name Norman Rockwell painted a female riveter who was posed like the “Prophet Isaiah” a painting by Michelangelo who had her feet on one of Hitler’s phrases “Mein Kampf”, with a lunchbox that was written ‘Rosie’ and a riveting gun on her lap for a memorial issue. As he painted, he was listening to the song Rosie the Riveter. The figure ‘Rosie’ was not a real woman but was usually associated with a lady named Rose Will Monroe who worked in the Air Force as a riveter in Michigan.
