Rose Parody: A Narrative Fiction

Rose smiled 'Yes' while thinking 'You made it' a mite obvious, following into a small hallway at stairs bottom. A door to the right led into the living room.
‘Set yourselves down gal, I bet you could do with a cup of tea after such a long trip’. Going into adjacent kitchen, which led onto the back yard where an out barn housed a few chickens, calling back ‘That will be the young girl I take it then’! ‘Yes this is Natalie, my youngest' replied Rose, smiling to herself 'How observant you are' then inviting Natalie 'Say hello to Mrs Berry Natalie’. Natalie fidgeting with her fingers behind her back, abashed muttered ‘Hello’.
'My other two girls Dorothy and Colleen are staying in Ruth in Cornwall. Been there near two years now. They were, as

A fit 35 with a well honed body carrying no excess fat. A couple of inches over 6 foot in height. Black hair combed straight back with no parting. Kind brown eyes over drawn cheeks and thin lips. Wearing a white check short sleeve shirt and grey flannelled trouser with woollen cardigan. No shoes on, showing both his socks were darned with different coloured wools.
Rose, upstairs in bed, was finding it difficult to read the Daily Express news paper, which was two days old anyway. Listening to the poor reception of 'Mrs Dales Diary' on the wireless seemingly irritating her, though normally loving the programme. The wireless aerial, just a plain wire, ran along the outer wall, held simply by tacks in the lime cement.

Cheap wallpaper of a little flower pattern on a pinky back ground. The brown door same colour as the skirting boards. Brass door handle adorned with spilled paint showed poor workmanship.
A gas mantle sat aside slightly opened sash cord window. Michael always insisted on fresh air coming in regardless of the weather outside. Mind any fresh air was a bonus that

Panic setting in for her' water having broken.
Dorothy, now ten, was sent running to fetch Nurse Mansfield. Good time she made over the 3/4 mile trip to Hartford drive. Dorothy rattled the letter box huffing puffing. The door opened she spluttered trying to talk, to tell nurse... who guessed and sent her back home sharpish.
Nurse made better time ... riding her bike. Arriving, she let herself in calling 'Hello the house'. A slight pause, then up stairs she went to see Michael was in the bedroom with his wife 'I want hot water, plenty of hot water, and clean towels'? She barked ordering a flustered Michael out the bedroom, and down stairs. Saucepans and kettle quickly filled soon sat on a four ringed gas stove. Time seemingly painstakingly long waiting for them to boil. 'Anything else I can do while I'm about it' shouted Michael up the stairs. 'No, just keep your ears open and do as when and what is needed when asked'' came back nurse's curt reply. 'and stay out the way'!
Rose had a fairly easy birth as births go, if ever there ever was such a thing.
Baby wrapped and dried, nurse went down to tell Michael he had a fine baby son... But was

In addition, in all three stories the authors give examples and comparisons of symbolism between the objects and the characters. The girls represent a symbolic change for Sammy, the fur represents Miss Brill’s emotional state, and the rose represents…

Although there was an activity room, I did not see an activity happening in the time I was there and the fact that there were only 3 bottles of glue sitting out suggests that not many people were taking part in the activities. The pictures in the activity room could symbolize what is still in the residents’ hearts and minds. The drawing of the home with sunshine and a dog could have represented what used to be someone’s prior life.…
