Romantic Love Break Up

It was not until a few thousand years ago that the idea of romantic love sparked in Western civilization. And along with it emerged questions such as how to get a girlfriend or boyfriend, how to keep a relationship strong, and how to deal with a break up. Since then, experts all over the Western world have attempted to develop "love guidelines" to lead those with problematic love lives into triumphant relationships.

For that situation, Ovid considers time to be the answer, “For time gives strength, time ripens tender grapes,/ and creates healthy crops from what were shoots.” Wikihow and Ovid also suggest filling up spare time with different activities to distract the heart and the mind. Thinking about your ex’s flaws might also be valuable according to Psychology Today and Ovid, since it constantly gives a reason not to date him or her anymore. Another tip to get over a break up is to get rid of anything that could possibly be a reminder of your ex. And also, avoid staying friends with him or her as AskAndrew advises: “my advice is to never feel it necessary to talk to your ex again, especially if they cheated on you.” Cutting ties is indispensable since keeping contact may reopen closed wounds, as Ovid reassures: “Another man was already cured: being near harmed him:/ he couldn’t bear any meeting with his mistress.” Furthermore, Wikihow and The Huffington Post suggest to stay away from social media since it may lead to stalking your ex. While Ovid claims that it is ok and sometimes beneficial to sleep around with other people, the Huffington Post advises to avoid rebound sex as much as possible: “Don’t rely on rebound sex. It will merely be a distraction and end up making you feel bad about yourself.”
In short, there are a lot of opinions that strive to simplify the hard task of having a romantic relationship. Whether it is how to survive a break up, how to keep a relationship going, or how to find a partner, one may find a consensus between different recommendations in order to make his or her love life
