In my opinion, the use of animal as pet and entertainment is an important factor that distinguishes the Egyptians and the Romans. For the Egyptians, they use animals as pet and treat them very well especially with cats; even the Pharaohs also have majestic pet. They are also using animals to portrait the gods to show a relation with the animal characteristic. On the other hand, Romans use them as a form of entertainment in the coliseum by having them fight with people.
