Roller Coasters

I hated roller coasters. They always terrified me. It makes me sick to my stomach thinking about the loops, twists and drops. One day my friend invited me to go to a Six Flags theme park. This particular friend loves roller coasters. I didn’t know why, but he could ride any roller coaster without a care in the world. As he grabbed my arm pulling me to the next ride I could feel my heartbeat increasing. My palms started getting sweating as my hands trembled. Then I saw it, the roller coaster that would change how I felt forever.

As we got closer and closer I looked up at the giant metal machine that everyone says is ‘so fun.’ The people inside the fast moving yellow cart screaming with joy. Every step I take making me regret this more.

Next thing I knew we were at the front of the line waiting for them to open the gate and let us in. Now the thing about this particular roller coaster is it’s called The Boomerang, this pretty much meant it went forward through the entire thing, but at the end it went backwards. This did not calm my nerves at all.

I remember sitting next to my friend while they were letting others on and just saying, “why would I agree to this?” or, “we are actually going to die.” These comments obviously didn’t kill his mood. He still had a goofy grin on his face. After mentally slapping myself for going on the roller coaster, the cart we were in starting backing up the three story drop. I didn’t do anything. Not because I couldn’t, but because I was frozen in fear.

Higher and higher the cart went up, and then it happened. The cart came to a halt, preparing for the drop that could happen at any moment. It felt as though hours had past before, SWOOSH! I swear it felt like my organs left my body. At first I couldn’t feel anything. I was numb, but after a few seconds all I felt was pure joy. I smiled and laughed looking at my friend. He looked at me and smiled yelling “I knew you could do

A few years ago, on a class trip, my friends had asked me to ride at least one roller coaster. It was not a large roller coaster, but it made me queasy just looking at it. I was confident that I would be able to go on and enjoy the experience. My confidence quickly evaporated when we began climbing up the roller coaster’s first hill. The ride dropped, and I was screaming so loudly that I could only hear myself.…

I remember the gut wrenching feeling in my stomach as my best friend and I approached the tallest and fastest roller coaster at Hershey Park, called SkyRush. I am not sure why I agreed to go on this roller coaster, considering most of the time at amusement parks I entertain myself with food, and miniature rides that stay level to the ground. Unlike me, my friend liked the rush and heart dropping feeling of being at the apex of a roller coaster and then dropping down at maximum speed. Personally, I preferred the ground, where I remained in full control of my own safety. Yet that afternoon I found myself standing in line for SkyRush.…

Well I had gone to Six Flags and when I had got there I was so anxious to get on every ride in Six Flags but then I had heard a person on the Goliath scream ”stop the ride” it was so funny and scary at the same time. Then I saw that almost every ride had so many twists and turns and even circles that go round and round. Last year I had gone on a roller coaster which was the Mind Bender and it wasn’t so scary. The Mind Bender had so many circles that go round and round.…

I got anxious as I reached the top, until the worked yelled “pull the cord.” Those three words is all it took to relieve me of everything, all the stress, anxiety and anything else that had bothered me just seemed to go away as I was flying through the sky. It showed me that whatever goal I set for myself in life, big or small, I would accomplish it.…

In just a few seconds they would be off, gone to travel over the track in a bright blur. The screams enclosed the car with the force of adrenaline as it appeared and disappeared in a flash. I heard the happy and terrified screams of the people on the coaster and the booming voice of the ones controlling it while strolling around Paradise Pier in Disneyland with my family. At this point, I hadn't been on the roller coaster yet. I preferred to keep myself on the ground and not on the coaster going up side down into crazy drops.…

Six Flags Trying to keep a serious face while going downwards on a rollercoaster is seemingly difficult. The best part of the roller coaster ride is when it takes your picture when you’re on the ride. When I was about nine years old, my family was debating about going to Cedar Point the upcoming weekend. I hadn't rode many roller coasters in my life at that time because I was only nine. Of course, trying to be manly, I totally agreed with their decision. My parents told me how big the roller coasters are, and how the roller coasters are some of the biggest in the world. I acted like I wasn't scared, and was talking about how I didn't care about the size of the roller coasters.…

It was the largest, most thrilling roller coaster yet to be found. I didn't believe it but knowing my best friend Prisa she was not gonna let me miss out on as she would always say, “once in a lifetime opportunities”. It was a hot, sunny day as the sun lit up the whole park. The blunt air had no wind or even a soft gentle breeze. It was just plain old humid and to add on to that, we were crowded with a solid 200 people in the line,…

I had never had so much fun with obnoxiously loud carnival music blasting in my ears, small children stupidly goofing off in front of me, and the smell of food that was so greasy it made my stomach turn. Things that usually gave me a migraine, now made me intoxicated on my own cheerfulness. However, everyone knows that all good things must come to an end. Shortly after my dad and I had exited the carousel, it was time for us to leave the park.…
