Role of a Radiographer What is the role of Radiographer? Most of the people do not even know what Radiographers do. Like me, when I first heard the word radiographer, I was thinking of someone who works in the radio but that is so far from the truth. A radiographer is an important part of medicine, in a patient’s diagnosis and treatment. The role of a radiographer uses x-ray to create images of body parts and organs for diagnostic purposes. The diagnosis from a radiographer’s image can affect, determine the treatment and care of a healthcare team. Wide ranges of imaging methods are used these include Ultrasound, X-ray, Fluoroscopy, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Clinical education enables radiography students to transfer the learning from the textbooks, classroom, and the laboratory environments to practical learning with real life situation.
