Roberto's Argumentative Essay

Decent Essays
Reading the two passages, I must agree with Roberto's argument on how teachers, police officers, and firefighters are under pay. Jennifer, on the other hand, glorifies athletes, and their million dollar salaries. Its unbelieveable how teachers; provide knowlege, police officers; fight crimes, and firefighters; save people, and suffer from low salaries. While athletes, get millions for just entertaining! I feel very hurt, on how most averge working class has to stuggle. Jennifer also states, on how athletes pay alot on injuries. So, that means that they should get more? That's insane! What about all the familys that loses love ones, and can't cover their bills? I hope in the the future, people will reconize teachers, police officers, and firefighters

Since society is not preparing to avenge the crime, there would be nothing egregiously unfair about going straight to trial. In reality, Tortorici’s trial was a moral one. Although the prosecution acknowledged Tortorici’s overt mental illness, they emphasized that the jurors must consider whether he was legally insane, arguing that: “The issue is not whether Ralph Tortorici is crazy, insane ……

What she also fails to mention about these things being covered is the student or athlete has to pay a significant amount for all of these. Some people also say that athletes shouldn’t be paid because they get scholarships, but scholarships also don’t cover the cost of everything. According to Veronica Majerol in the article, “Should college athletes be paid? two recent rulings may change the face of college sports,” “Still, the average full-scholarship athlete accumulates $3,200 in debt for each year they're in school, according to a recent study, because meal plans and other incidentals often aren't fully covered. " Scholarships are supposed to help pay for school, not bring the students in debt, and as said above, the scholarships don’t cover the cost of…

College athletics have gained immense popularity among Americans over the past few decades. This has resulted into increased in a lot of money for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the participating colleges, which has sparked the debate of whether college athletes should be given money beyond their athletic scholarships but I think they should get paid for the following reason they should be paid because without the players that risk injuries on the team the association would not make the money they do now and their coaches get paid but why not them and most importantly students after…

While reading Enrique’s Journey, the most prevalent concern that Enrique faced was the difficulty immigrating to the U.S-Mexico border. Towards the end, Enrique encountered the Rio Grande which separates the U.S. from Mexico and even then he was not allowed to pass. How can a land of immigrants later decide to deny the right to immigrate to the U.S.? The laws concerning the right to immigrate should be geared more towards protecting that right rather than infringing on it. While it is true that outsiders have tried to attack the U.S., that doesn’t mean we should deny people the opportunity to build a life for themselves and their families in America.…
