Robert E. Lee was born on January 19th, 1807 in Stratford Hall, Virginia, he was the son of Henry E. Lee and Anne Hill Carter Lee. The E in his name stood for Edward.Robert’s father wasn’t always the best father to him. His father left to go to the Caribbean to find more prospects, he never returned and at this time Robert was only 6. His only manly influences were his brothers. Robert was a member of a large family, including three sisters and five brothers. Anne (his mother) had to take care of all the kids at this time, and the brothers went out to make the money for the family. Once the father died later on in life, that very much affected Robert, he had gotten very sad and started to work on his father’s memoirs. Out all the family members
