1. The focal point of the authors view in this article is to help determine if Robert E. Lees name should be removed from schools and institutions. The author explains what Robert E. Lee was like and what he did for our country. He was a man of impeccable honesty, integrity and kindness. He was also a brave and courageous solider. However, Lee owned over a hundred and ninety slaves, he believed that slavery was god’s will, and did not free them, he sold them and ripped families apart.

2. The author’s general claim is to explain Lee’s courageous and brave side, but also show the racist side. Lee was a great solider however he owned over one hundred and ninety slaves. The author is claiming whether we should take down Robert E. Lees
