There are many different types of roundworms around the world. The most common is pinworms. In this paper you will learn what a pinworm is, what are affected by them, what are some symptoms and signs, what are some of the risk factors, what a pinworms lifecycle is, what some of the economic losses are, what medical treatment you can do, and how you can prevent them.
Pinworms are caused by infections by worm-like parasites in the intestines and anal areas of the body. Pinworms are usually white that are around 2-13 millimeters long. There eggs are so tiny you cannot see them, but a full grown pinworm is visible. If you have a microscope you can see a figure of the egg. Pinworms do spread from one thing to the next. The eggs can get in fingers, bedding, or clothing. They look slimy and are skinny and longer. It is obvious if you get them because unlike other parasites you can see the pinworms. They are usually

If you get these sometimes they may make you sick and you will have to miss work or school. These also spread so you could get someone else sick off of pinworms. This is not good for the economy because when people aren’t working we can’t do anything. Of course, not everyone will get pinworms and can’t work on the same day but, The more people we have working and going to school the better it is.
Most things that are infected by pinworms get oral medication. If you are a person and get it, everyone in your house would need to take medication because they spread so easily. Once something gets pinworms and you can get it out of their system you will need to clean where they live. That may help the pinworms not reoccur.
The only way to really prevent them is to wash your hand and nails, bathe every day, try not to scratch or put your fingers in your mouth, change bedding, and change your clothes daily. All of it is just regular every day hygiene that you should already be doing, but if you do not you may end up with pin
