Ring-Tailed Lemurs are cat-sized primates that live on the islands of Madagascar. Compared to the more energetic Old/New World Monkeys which aren't that active, Ring-Tailed Lemurs are very lively and fun.. They are a very social and use several forms of communication to communicate with one another.
Similar to humans, they use many non-verbal forms of communication, such as facial expressions; they will also bare their teeth. Certain vocalizations can mean a variety of things, these vocalizations can warn of predators as well as losing a member of their group. Lemurs mainly leap, climb, walk, rarely swinging their hands. Despite the great length of their tail, it is not prehensile; their tails are used during mating season. Males have "Stink Fights" for females. They mark their tail and wave/shake it to spread their scent around (insert citation). Caring for their young is stressful for Lemurs but is minimized by timing the birth of their offspring during times when food is abundant. The females sync up their estress so their offspring are born at the same time. New mothers tend not to let unknown or newly transferred males near their children
