Ridgeview Middle School Research Paper

This light is killing my eyes! If I could make a significant change to the structure or appearance of my school it would be to reduce the large glass windows. First, having lots of windows is a safety hazard to all of the students and faculty at Ridgeview Middle School. Second, someone could easily have health problems related with sun shining through the windows. Last, windows cause distractions by children looking out and staring like a nod on a log. As can be seen, changing the large windows at Ridgeview Middle School would benefit everyone. First of all, even though windows can be fascinating they can be an enormous danger. If there was to be a natural disaster such as a tornado, a hailstorm, or an earthquake, the windows could easily shatter. This proposes glass shards and the possibility of being exposed to the weather. What about a predator shooting the windows? Sadly, they are not bullet proof so the intruder could immediately break in and take the lives of innocent people. Not only could they get in, they could automatically see if students were in classrooms. This could reveal our hiding spots if we were in danger. Seeing light all day might cause painful headaches that last all day. Headaches are not only painful, but they cause students to have a hard time completing their work. Some shades could help this issue, however, not all classrooms have them and they are very costly to purchase. Some students and faculty also have light triggered seizures. This causes excessive danger and can be very scary for anyone around. Imagine the eye problems that could arise with light shining in people’s eyes all day.
