Something about the un-recreatable sound of a voice, the inflection as words of emotion and logic roll off the tongue, the central idea that vibrations of one’s throat can lead to tears, to change, and to connection enthralled me. It was through this interest that I decided to work to overcome my obstacle and create my own voice. While seeing a speech therapist aided in this pursuit, the true core of what I needed to do was to find the confidence within myself. This process was not easy and continues to test me, yet is a challenge which I look upon with a smile. I spent many hours reciting speeches, reading about the most famous of speakers, and working hard to form my own style of speaking. This process was not one step, it is a continuous battle against all my doubts and the doubts of others, yet it excites me as I know I can, and will, overcome it.
