Rhetorical Analysis
The major purpose of the text is to show people how crowd funding projects such as KickStarterwork. The project, in this case, managed to raise $31,475, from a total of 584 backers (Diatom 1). The main aim was to make audiences aware of the innovation that allows people to design and construct their furniture, as well as, make people know that crowd funding and especially KickStarter works. The whole point is that there are people that are searching for ways to get capital for their start-ups, but they may not have found a way to access such capital. Besides, they can share such designs with the social media and online community, and it can become a success just as with other projects such as movies and applications that seek funding as well. It starts with a more general establishment of the issues that need discussion. The generalized element is more of an overview followed by more specific elements of the proposal such as the pledges, the amounts that were raised, the number of pledges that raised the amount, the challenges faced by the project in raising money such as the glitches in payment among other things. Furthermore, by discussing the proposal at both a general and a more specific level, shows the mastery of the author about the issues that are captured. It provides the ethos for the proposal by establishing
