One day a kid could go to jail for god knows what then pick up something bad like being a sex offender or a rapist they could have learned that in jail and taken it back out into the real world where he could use it on some one else where if the child didn't go to jail at all he / she wouldn't learn these things their for more of these bad things wouldn't be in our world to this very day. Kids could pick up bad habits, not learn how to interact with other people and not be able to continue their education all because of jail. What if a little boy killed another person do they deserve to live then or do they deserve to be jailed for it. they can always go to a school for kids in jail. they could get help. What if a little boy killed a person what if it was self defence or an accident should he have a death penalty for it, a 10 11 year old kid? They could go to a special school. It would not be the same all they kids wouldn't want to learn if they were in jail I'm a kid my self i know these things. So what would make them learn. What if those kids are simply beyond help i know people say that as an insult but what if it is true their is no helping them. This topic is important because this actually happens in the real world every day and no one knows what to do because it is such a sensitive subject to

Overall I think my opinion is yes that he should have been tried as an adult. I know kids are kids and they have time to learn but in cases of kids killing people I think it's a different story. I would be more understanding about the situation if he had maybe stop beating the victim after he was already down and hurt but he continued to grab other items to kill the victim. If any child feels in danger and feels the need to fight back yes I think they should but not intentionally to kill them just enough to get away and ask for…

Children are usually seen as innocent, as they play around with others and are just balls of energy. Often seen as simply kids who have no experience in the outside world until they grow older. However, sometimes a child’s play can go wrong and can affect another’s life. When these incidents happen where a death is involved, it’s often easy for society to look at the offender as a murder who should be in prison for the rest of their life despite what age the offender may be. While juveniles committing heinous crimes should be punished, they should also be given the chance to rejoin society at an appropriate age; therefore juveniles who redeem themselves should be able to get released earlier and be able to put their life together.…

I believe the people putting these young kids in jail and solitary confinement don’t care enough about them. If they cared more, they would talk to these children about what they did and why they did it. Some kids are just bad but a lot of these children doing bad things could have a deeper story to why they are doing these things. Maybe they have troubles at home with family, or maybe they don’t even have a steady home, but either way solitary confinement is only making their situations…

Juvenile crime has been an increasing point of debate in recent years. Many people argued whether they should be sentenced as adults or not when convicted of a serious crime, such as murder. Some argue that juveniles deserve to be treated as such despite the crime they have committed, while others believe they are to be treated as adults. This resulted in many juveniles receiving adult sentences like life in prison without parole. Some juveniles commit crimes without a thought of the risks, while some carefully plan out their crimes and get a serious thrill out of it.…

Cities are shaken to their cores when juveniles commit horrible crimes and aren't given a fit punishment. One example is that when Jessica Ridgeway was murdered the killer was in charge of 18th birthday, therefore he was not charged as an adult. This is a controversial topic that many argue their point about. One reason that juveniles should be tried as adults is if they have Criminal Intent. Also just because you are younger than someone who commits the same crime does not mean you should get a different punishment for committing that crime.…

The article, “Juveniles Should Be Tried As Adults” by Mary Estudillo, brings up many strong arguments as to why juveniles should be tried as adults, but the opposing article, “Juveniles Should Not Be Tried As Adults” written by Hannah McCrea strongly claims they should not. Estudillo cites examples of cases in which juveniles committed first and second degree murder, and were thereafter tried as adults. She explains how juveniles should be tried as adults because they are criminals, and criminals need to held responsible for their actions. She also brings up how rehabilitation does little to sometimes nothing for the child, so when they are released, they commit another crime. Alternatively, McCrea authored “Juveniles Should Not Be Tried As Adults,” and states how adult prisons do more harm than good for juveniles.…

Juveniles should be convicted as adults for violent crimes because they are in the age that they can commit external crimes against people. It has jurisdiction of teens that are in the range of 13 to 17 years old that commit crimes. First off, in the article On Punishment and Teen Killers By Jennifer jenkins explains that most Juveniles convicted as a crime are repeat offenders. As a Society, we emphasize that children are our future and how they have the potential to keep changing the world, which is why we must invest in their future. However, it seems that those children that are classified or seen as deviant are not a part of that vision of having the potential to make a positive impact. Therefore, their life does not matter, which is why they get lost in a system and carry a mentality that they do not matter. A major purpose of prison is to cause rehabilitation, being able to allow these individuals incarnated to become enable them to be a law abiding citizen. Even though, that is the purpose of prison if it is not working for adults then we must have a better solution for our youth because once they age out of…

Horrendous crimes have to be committed in order to be sentenced without parole. There are currently many countries in the world that punish underage criminals without ever giving them the opportunity to be free again, such as the United States, where around 2000 young criminals are imprisoned. Athough some crimes are too atrocious to be ever forgiven, it is of fundamental importance to take into consideration that children and teenagers are not fully mentally, physically, and emotionally developed, and they should not, therefore, be treated as adults while tried. It can be argued that crimes such as rape, murder, and kidnapping are so horrible that the criminal individuals deserve not to be ever given an opportunity to be reintegrated into society again. These individuals have committed such terrible actions that it would be unfair as well as dangerous to give them a second chance.…

The craziness about this is the saying “the punishment should fit the crime” is like saying the murder should be murdered, and the rapist should be raped. What benefit is there in killing children, saving the taxpayer money or obtain revenge there has to be a better means for criminal justice agencies in the handling of young offenders. Placing juveniles in prison with adult criminals only creates criminals, because the juvenile would then learn how to survive within the surroundings of the adult population Instead, there is a chance youth offenders are of ages 12 to 16 placed in rehabilitation for a chance to develop as productive adults. More than likely juveniles have gone through life in a poor environment, abusive home, or have been neglected they could even lack in education. Some candidates pass through the justice system, most often placed on parole or…

Good morning. Society is faced with an increasingly growing problem. The problem is that children and teens are committing heinous crimes at a young age. The question is, do we sentence these children and teens to incarceration for the rest of their lives, or do we instead try to rehabilitate these teens and children and find the root causes of these problems? Do we not give them a second chance and let them rot in prison, or do we rehabilitate them and help them become important members of society?…

There have been many opinions on juveniles being convicted as adults on the crimes they have committed. When it comes to some of these harsh crimes, who could not punish the individual to the fullest? It does not matter how old a person is because everyone knows the difference between right and wrong. If someone is raised differently and believes it is okay to murder another human, than they cannot just change their mindset. An individual that makes and adult decision should have the same consequences.…

The decision of juveniles being tried as adults in the world of criminal justice has usually been an object of controversy. Some agree that an adolescent who commits a serious crime like murder deserves to be penalized exactly like an adult; while others declare that a minor should not face the same punishment as an adult. However, no matter how severe or appalling a crime may be, juveniles should not be tried as adults; the reason being that everyone should be granted the chance to learn from their mistakes. Juveniles should not be punished as adults, simply because they biologically distinct from adults. Teenagers are the midsection between children and adults.…
