Revenge seems to be a big thing among humans. As a society it is often known that one person will be jealous of something and then seek to try to get back at them, the people whom they seek revenge, for it. Camus provides a perfect example of this in The Stranger. Meursault murders the arab after he, Meursault, was given a gun. Meursault claims that the sun was the reason for killing the arab. Although the arab did beat up a person Meursault knows. The revenge could have played a role in this murder, but this does state something about society. Meursault uses the sun as an excuse, the reader thinks, for the murder.
