One of the most valuable and attractive traits in a person is respect. Respect towards yourself and acquaintances are the most common form of respect. It creates calm environment in the workplace, personal space, and shows how you feel for one another. Respect also builds character and structure in a person. “Respect for ourselves guides our morals, respect for others guides our manners.”- Laurence Sterne. One of the most important forms of respect is self-respect. When one respects themselves, it increases self-confidence, but when you lose that respect you become weak and powerless. Many can’t accept that some people believe in different things than others which causes friction between the two. Thus keeping the two from having a relationship with each other. The people who can be respectful of others opinions become successful and have more relationships. A child who is allowed to be disrespectful to his parents will not have true respect for anyone. -Billy Graham. Respect for your family and friends is also a major form of respect any one can have. Respect for your family can create a person's character. It will also help form a good parenting potential when to that stage in life, and will teach them a tolerance level for their children. They also cause people to develop reckless behaviors throughout their life and causes damage to them and the people around them. This can also cause stress to the people around them. Furthermore, this can cause loss in relationship as well. This can cause hate against you and friction between you and the other. This can cause seclusion from family and friends, or cause abusive relationships to the one around you. Respect is so important to have no matter who you are. It keeps things organized and builds our everyday lives and relationships. It creates bonds and show our feelings between people and even possessions or pets. If everyone could show respect to others, this world would become such a better place and every person would gain some self-concept and
