Resilient Research Paper

Improved Essays
Resilient is a word that I would use to describe myself and I've learned over the years as a military brat to "adapt and overcome" new challenges and withstand trials. Starting in middle school I wasn’t always the type to adapt to my surrounding without what I was used to. As a military child it is hard to live in one place, make “best” friends, and then move. As I started to mature and get older, i realized that the people I called friends weren’t always going to be my friends. This is when I decided to do other activities to make more friends that could potentially be my social buddies. Ever since I can remember I’ve always been an athletic child. After crying and thinking about how life would be if I was in his shoes, I commenced my research into being a Special Education Teacher and Athletic Trainer. If anything were to happen during my track and field high school career, I would focus on being and Athletic Trainer for Special Needs. The reason for this being is to keep a connection with the passion I have for sports and the drive I have for helping special needs. The drive isn’t just only for my career goals, it for my family too. My drive is to give back what my family has provided for me through my whole high school career. Being a military brat has it’s perks but it also has it’s downfalls. When I was younger I felt as if my family was the worst family because as I was trying to grow, I was always moving from country to country, state to state, house to house, and school to school. Today as a senior, I am very matured and cognizant of my growth as a woman and I’ve become more appreciative of the things my family has provided for me.
