I want to become an Army officer, because I feel that I would be a great asset to the Army Officer Corp. I am a determined individual, who has been through many bumps in the road, yet my goal to become both an officer, and veterinarian have never faltered. This is due to the resiliency that I have; I learned in Basic Training Combat that every good soldier needs resiliency in order to be successful. Without resiliency, how are soldier expected to successfully complete their mission? This past semester I struggled with passing Organic Chemistry I, and Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy, the same thing happened in my freshman fall 2014 semester with Calculus I; while I did pass these classes in the end, it does not mean I was done. Just because I passed does not mean that I could not do better, because I can. When I take these classes again, besides the fact I will have past experience and previous notes, I will be striving to achieve a higher grade in each of these classes. If I plan to get into Veterinary school I cannot even expect to be considered with those grades in those classes, besides the fact that they dropped my GPA, it shows I did not understand or was able to apply what I learned. In addition, as a veterinarian or …show more content…
As for BRM failure I have looked up the Army doctrine for Rifle Marksmanship Training, since I learn better by understanding the concept first I continue to review the material. If possible, during drill I will see if it is possible to receive training, even if I cannot to a range, I will practice the fundamentals. If I learned anything from all my struggles, it is that the life is unpredictable and plans will more than likely never go to plan, yet being able to have that mindset of never admitting defeat and always wanting to improve yourself is the best way to become a stronger

Reviewing key assumptions of trauma-informed approaches One must review the key assumptions of trauma-informed approaches to achieve the goal of this literature review, which is to explore the extent to which trauma-informed approaches have improved children’s experiences within learning contexts. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services suggested four key assumptions in a trauma-informed approach (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, 2014). To start, it is assumed that every person working within an organization has a basic realization about trauma (SAMHSA, 2014). Trauma-informed practice is based on an essential understanding of how trauma impacts people’s lives, and as an extension, their service needs and frequency of use…

I thought the Survey of Character Strengths was an interesting survey to take. My first and second strengths were not particularly surprising to me, however my third was not what I necessarily expected it to be, but I am certainly not unhappy with it. All three strengths are values I have always admired because I have grown up watching my parents and older siblings showcase all three. I have consciously tried to emulate their example regarding these strengths and it was intriguing and encouraging to see all three show up in the survey. I was glad to see which strength showed up as my top, as kindness and generosity are especially important to me.…

Class #3 Readings: http://www.cns.nyu.edu/home/ledoux/overview.htm Emotion, Memory and the Brain, Trauma and PTSD Symptoms: Does Spiritual Struggle Mediate the Link? I especially enjoyed the exploration of brain activity and the effect the trauma can have on the brain this week. I think that the way the slides were organized were a great way to gradually expand on knowledge introduced in the readings, and slowly but surely increase the complexity of the ideas. While I am attempting to critically analyze the class, I really do think that the slides and concepts were laid out perfectly and connected well to the course content. The fact that each slide built another layer of information onto the main topic without making things to complex was easy to understand and therefor easy to learn.…

First responders should monitor channels for distress calls and coordinate efforts with a crisis command post. Although state DOTs are not directly responsible for patrolling state-owned infrastructure, “DOTs do have the responsibility for controlling access to critical components, establishing coordination with law enforcement to ensure quick response to incidents, conducting infrastructure risk and vulnerability assessments, and taking action to mitigate the effects of those risks and vulnerabilities.” (“Incorporating Transportation Security Awareness into Routine State DOT Operations…
