Saint Paul, the Apostle, original name Saul was born around C.E 1-5 in the city of Tarsus in Asia Minor which is now Turkey. He was one of the leaders of the first generation of Christianity, and is considered to be the second most person in the history of Christianity. Paul is a very important figure in the world because he was converted on the way to Damascus and he travelled tens of thousands of miles around the Mediterranean spreading the word of Jesus. Paul’s first missionary journey began in Antioch in Syria like the first two journeys. However, it did not end in Antioch but in Jerusalem.
