(lily's son) potions at hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry.in the starting novel of the series snape is a teacher who is always bitter to harry but as soon as the series begins his character becomes more layered but Rowling does not reveal snape's true character untill the last book of the series i.e. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
