Frost Paper Rough draft
Period 1 Robert Frost's upbringing and life has a lot to do with his dark and witty writing. Throughout Frost's entire life, he was hurt by the loss of someone close to him, which contributed to his dark writing style. These sad and mortifying events started at a young age and continued to get worse. He was born on March 26 in 1874 in San Francisco California. When he was 11 he experienced his first loss when his dad died of tuberculosis, and his entire family moved to New England. His moving to New England affected his writing a lot in one way. First he focuses on each poem with its own great detail. A lot of authors don't really focus the way Frost does. Other authors just go with the flow and don't take their writing as seriously as Frost does. Frost really says everything in great detail. Another great attribute of Frost is his social vision, in distinguishing differences in groups of people. Frost during his time was great at showing and telling the difference between different classes no groups of people in some of his writings. This affect isn't shown a ton because Frost's writing is generally short. Finally Frosts best writing style is how he dramatizes certain things in his writings. When something fairly simple can be said frost will take it to a whole new level. In the poem "Ghost House" Frost uses detailed writing. In line 7 he uses multiple adjectives to describe a certain summer star. That is one decent example of his descriptive writing. He basically took the idea he was trying to explain and took it in his own words to empathize certain things. He uses this skill sparingly which makes it even more dramatic when he does use it. He suffered a lot of loss throughout his life, this created a lot of dark writing from him. He had a lot of great ideas that shaped new American Authors. Two things he did was put dramatic effect in his writing he also took his writing very seriously, and spent plenty of time on each piece. He also took very intense empathize on every tone of voice and he redefined tone for some new American Authors. He received more than forty honorary degrees from colleges and universities, including Oxford and Cambridge Universities, Amherst College, and the University of Michigan. He Also won the Pulitzer Prize more than a few times, he received many other awards. That shows his success as an American Author and his ideas and writing styles were respected and accepted. Frost was a great poet and respected by his colleagues he achieved what he wanted to through hard work and dedication selling all he had to
